Individuals will:
  • Take ownership of their learning
  • Create blog entries that are an open forum of discussion for ideas
  • Create at least 1 blog entry per week based off an article of the students choosing
  • Comment 5 times per week to other blogs and record in Google Spreadsheet
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of collaboration and a collective "think tank"
  • Utilize internet resources appropriately - data collection/distribution, links, comments, aesthetics
  • Sign up for Web 2.0 tools when necessary
  • Give a final reflection over what you have "learned"
Teams will:
  • Create a unique "look and feel" to the blog - not to distract from content and analysis
  • Invite professionals in the "real world" to comment and join the blog discussions
  • Utilize at least 2 outside Web 2.0 tools (other than the blog itself and GoogleDocs) to collaborate and share ideas
Mr. Smith and Mr. Kern will:
  • Provide a comfortable atmosphere to explore ideas
  • Provide a functional website for each group
  • Provide scheduled group or one-on-one consultations
  • Shift the teacher role to a consultant role allowing the kids to become the educators
  • Carefully read/review all submissions and links
  • Assist with technical aspects of the project
  • Provide class time and computers to complete these expectations
